Her skills at controlling shinsoo are said to be the best even among the 10 great family heads. But while Poe Vidor Gustang, another family head, was a pioneer of shinsoo research, Blossom never showed much interest on the subject.
(However, Blossom's capability on the battlefield is said to be above that of Gustang's)
It is told that Gustang was jealous of Blossom's talents and his jealousy can often found in Gustang's many works. In one of Gustang's earlier works it is written, "Blossom is one of the top wave controllers but she won't be able to teach you a thing. She doesn't even know how she does it herself," a snide remark on Eurasia.
Because of this, in the tower, when a talented person feels jealous of someone even more talented it supposed to be 'like how Gustang sees Blossom.'(Later, this phrase comes to mean a man and woman with a bad relationship.)
If Gustang was a 'helper' wave controller that used shinsoo to aid combat, Blossom was a 'offensive' wave controller, using shinsoo to attack a target directly. Because the way she manipulates shinsoo is wild and unpredictable, even other family heads are said to have fled when she started using shinsoo.
Although her skills don't fall behind the other family heads, Blossom hasn't involved herself to the politics of the tower since the great journey and has never looked after her family the tower floors she ruled. Because of this she received a lot of criticism from the other family heads.
Interestingly enough, Blossom and Gustang were once lovers but broke up after the famous Eurasia Enne Zahard incident(Enne Zahard is the child of Blossom and Gustang, and Blossom is said to have been against Enne becoming a Zahard princess). Afterwards the Eurasia family and the Poe Vidor family forbid all marriages between the families and have been very hostile toward each other.
Also, the Eurasia main family is opposed to Zahard princesses getting chosen from their family(or it could mean Zahard princesses getting chosen in general, it's too vague).
